The dust of everyday life

I heard a saying by Berthold Auerbach today that went something like this: "Music washes away from the soul the dust of everyday life." To me, that rings truer than anything.
Whenever I hear Tchaikovsky's Nutcracker pieces, I am always so incredibly moved and I find myself crying... a strange sort of cry. A cry that reassures me I will always - ALWAYS - love the opera, classical music and ballet.

When I first saw the Nutcracker with my mom, it's as if I was finally re-connected with a long lost love. It was magical to say the truly very least! I wish I could convince Dan how incredible and admirable ballet is. If not for the dancers, than perhaps for the eternal Tchaikovsky.
