So yes, I am TRYING to be a better photographer. Or a PHOTOGRAPHER in general.
It's not easy for me, but it's worse for Dan and every plant, twig and door that enters my field of vision! I know a LOT of people are not comfortable being photographed (heck, even I don't like pictures OTHERS take of me) so I have to take what I can get.
On this particular night ( a few weeks ago) I could get THIS:

..and this water fountain. Actually, this really helped show me what settings make the water freeze mid-air and what setting made it blurry.

Dan never really tells me I can't do something, because he thinks that if it's really important I'll stick with it and he'll support me, and if it's not, I'll forget all about it in a week or two.
But this IS one of those important things and so he just had to let me torture him. I always think of those poor cats that are forced to wear clothes when I see him doing something just to please me.

Of course, I had the camera turned on me at ONE point.

I think this is a nice hobby - at the very least - because it means getting out of the house and finding something interesting to study. It takes an optimist to do this.

Tempting as it may be to give up right now, I know I have to hang in there.
Of course my pictures aren't professional right now. I just started.
Of course they come out blurry sometimes.
Patience is EVERYTHING.
Oh and a dose of perseverance.
